I attended Nower Hill High School, who now have a web page so my page is not the only referecne to it on the web!

From there I went to Harrow Weald Sixth Form College, which has since become Weald College.

I studied B.A. Chemistry at Trinity College, Oxford University, where I stayed on to do a D.Phil. in Archaeological Science at the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art. I also stayed there for a post-doctoral project funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

In April 1995 I moved to Durham University as a lecturer in the Department of Archaeology.
